Our readers are aware that Prest. Finney is laboring in this city. We are happy to learn that despite of many obstacles, truth is triumphant; the Spirit of God descends in power; many backslidden are reclaimed; many deceived professors are convened; that hundreds are inquiring--the work going deeper and spreading broader, and some of God's people baptized richly with the Holy Ghost. We trust that these results will quicken both praise and prayer. Verily, God should be acknowledged for his great works of mercy and yet sought unto the more trustfully to do such things more and more for his needy kingdom.
