Private letters from Pres. Finney state that he and his wife were to sail for America and their home, Aug. 4. A prosperous voyage will bring them to this country in season to attend the ensuing Commencement. We hope they may be here to greet their numerous friends and especially those Alumni of the earlier years of Oberlin, who will be present in large numbers at this Commencement.

It is also a source of deep gratification to us all, that Pres. Finney returns to resume his labors in the Theological Department. We trust they will not be interrupted again, during his ability to teach and labor in that Department.
